Meet Your Wing Women

5 years ago I went on a girls trip to Vegas.  Upon returning from that trip, I was looking at photos and I didn’t recognize myself in many of the pictures.  The image I had of me in my head was not matching the image I saw in the pictures.  The vision of the “me I see” appeared to be lost.  I was smiling, but not truly happy.  I was laughing, but not full of joy.  I appeared strong, but lacked strength mentally, physically and emotionally.  It was a critical moment in my life because I made the decision to stop making excuses, accept the fact that hard work was ahead of me, and trust that those who loved me most would be there when I needed them.   I made the decision to join a gym and work with a personal trainer. After a few weeks of getting into a routine and trusting my trainer and believing I could really make some change, I was able to slowly start building in new habits.  Very slowly.  I have learned to really refine and define the “Angie” I strive to be.  I understand the process of change and I live it everyday without feeling compelled to justify my decisions.  It has been the hardest work I have ever done, and some of the most rewarding work I continue to do.

The gym is my “me time” now.  It is a time, place and space where I can work through hard decisions, push my mind to dig deep and persevere, and experience complete failure one day and crush a personal best the next.  I crave that daily sacred time.  It is personal and intimate.

I am a mom to three extraordinary children, a wife to the most patient and supportive man, a professional boss babe, certified life coach, and loyal friend.  I was born and raised on a farm in southern Saskatchewan and my parents taught me from an early age the importance of having a strong work ethic.  Although I reside in an urban setting now, I never forget my rural roots and the impact they have had on shaping me into the woman I am today.

I hold a Bachelors and Master Degree and am incredibly fortunate to serve as a leader in one of the most rewarding sectors.  I am over the moon to finally put into motion this partnership with Lisa.  To combine our shared passion into Wotherwill Group is a dream come true.  I am so glad that you found us and cannot wait for you to contribute in all that is yet to come!

After a very traumatic and stressful time in my life, I was seeking connecting and meaning so I joined a book club. The first (and truly only) book we read was The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. Through that book and the people in the club, I learned several lessons:

Happiness is a choice.

Small habits performed daily lead to big outcomes.

The people you surround yourself with have a significant impact on your wellbeing.

Since that time, I have worked hard to choose gratitude and joy every single day of my life. This doesn’t mean that every day has been sunshine and glitter or that I haven’t been devastated and angry. What it does mean is that the habits I have worked hard to develop over the years ensure that I don’t stay stuck. This work has evolved into a complete lifestyle shift where I choose ME and prioritize my wellness every single day. Because I'm worth it!

I am a mom, wife, furmama, auntie, career woman, food & lifestyle blogger (@mrslazyspoon) and certified life coach. I was born and raised in Regina, SK but I married a farmer and now I spend my days on the land where he grew up and continues to run a fully operational organic farm. I never dreamed I’d be living in the country but I absolutely love the stillness and beauty that surrounds me out here.

My son lives in Calgary where he is building a career in sports broadcasting. He is an all-around amazing human with a huge heart for people and animals. He makes me so proud to be his mom.

I hold a Bachelors and Master Degree in Education and have had an incredibly rewarding and successful career for over 25 years. I am passionate about teaching, inspiring, and leading others. I am thrilled to be working alongside my very dear friend Angie as we continue to fuel our passion and grow a community of extraordinary people living well.
